This Privacy Policy describes how NailBase (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application.
NailBase is an offline-first application designed for nail masters and salons to manage client records, visits, services and income. All data you enter into NailBase is stored locally on your device only, unless you explicitly enable the optional Google Drive sync feature described in Section 6. We do not operate any server, and we do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your data.
NailBase stores the following information locally on your device:
None of this information is sent to us, to any server, or to any third party, except your own Google Drive account if you explicitly enable the optional sync feature (Section 6). We have no ability to view, access, or recover this data.
NailBase requests the following device permissions, used solely for the purposes described:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | To photograph clients and scan QR codes for the referral and salon-report features. Photos and scans are processed and stored locally on your device only. |
| Biometric / Device credential | To provide an optional app lock feature, if you choose to enable it in Settings. When biometric unlock is available and used, it is handled entirely by the Android operating system; NailBase never accesses or stores your fingerprint or face data. The app lock PIN itself is stored only as a salted hash on your device, never in plain text. |
| Contacts | Only when you tap “Import from contacts” while adding a client, NailBase asks for the contacts permission and reads just the single contact you select - its name, phone number and photo - and saves them on your device as the client’s record (the photo becomes the client’s avatar). NailBase does not scan or list your address book, does not read contacts in the background, and does not send contacts to us or to any third party. Imported data is only included in your own optional backups described in this policy. |
| Vibration | For tap/success/error haptic feedback - purely cosmetic, no data involved. |
All data is stored in the app’s private storage area on your device, which is not accessible to other apps. If you enable the optional App Lock feature, access to the app requires a PIN code (and, on supported devices, biometric authentication as a faster alternative) before the app can be opened.
NailBase includes an optional manual backup feature that creates a ZIP file containing your data (database and client/business-card photos) on your device. You control where this file goes - the App uses the standard Android share function, and you choose the destination (for example, your own cloud storage or messaging app). We do not have access to this file at any point, and the App itself does not upload it anywhere automatically.
NailBase offers an additional, optional backup method: automatic synchronization to your own Google Drive account. This feature is off by default - nothing is sent anywhere unless you explicitly turn it on in Settings and sign in with your Google account.
If you choose to enable it:
This feature exists to help you avoid losing data if your device is lost, damaged, or replaced. Turning it on does not change how your data is stored locally - it remains in your device’s private storage as described in Section 4, in addition to being copied to your own Google Drive.
NailBase does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. QR code scanning (referral and salon-report features) uses on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit); this processing happens entirely on your device and does not send images or data to Google or any other party.
NailBase offers an optional one-time “Pro” purchase through Google Play Billing to unlock additional features. Purchase processing is handled entirely by Google Play; we do not receive or store your payment information. Please refer to Google Play’s own Privacy Policy for information on how Google handles payment data.
Because all data is stored only on your device:
NailBase is a business tool intended for use by nail-service professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
NailBase stores your data on your own device and, only if you enable it, in your own Google Drive account or in backup files you create. We apply reasonable measures to protect it (private app storage, optional App Lock), but no device, software or network is completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of NailBase is not responsible for loss, corruption, unauthorized access, theft or disclosure of your data resulting from: loss, damage, theft, factory reset or failure of your device; unauthorized access to your device, your PIN or your Google account, including hacking, malware or interference by third parties; actions or failures of third-party services such as Google, Android or Google Drive; backup files that you create, share or fail to create; or your own deletion of data or uninstalling the App. Keeping regular backups is your responsibility.
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection or data-protection law that cannot be waived.

This policy applies specifically to the NailBase mobile application. NailBase operates entirely offline; no data described in this policy is ever transmitted to us or any third party unless you explicitly choose to share a backup file yourself, or enable the optional Google Drive sync feature (Section 6).
